Barrie School seeks an AMS or AMI-certified Elementary II Lead Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. This person will be responsible for presenting the Upper Elementary Montessori curriculum (grades four through six) to students, participating in parent education and conferences, record-keeping, assessment, student interviews, Open Houses, and other tasks as assigned by the Head of the Lower School.

We specifically seek candidates with the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in instructional principles, methods, and techniques of our Montessori program.
- Ability to effectively teach to various students’ academic needs, interests, abilities, and dispositions.
- Ability to provide culturally responsive classroom management that treats children with unconditional positive regard.
- Ability to develop positive and trusting relationships with parents, while maintaining strict student/family confidentiality.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as a positive team member within a professional learning community.
- Demonstrated skills in computer literacy, educational technology, and online assessments.
- Ability and willingness to develop and participate in school functions, including but not limited to open houses, orientation meetings, parent education, school-wide activities, retreats, and special events.
- Bachelor's Degree
- AMS or AMI Elementary II Credential
- Minimum of 2-5 years of elementary teaching experience
- Proven track record of arriving on time, contributing to the delivery and support of the full complement of Montessori lessons and extensions for the program level, record-keeping, and working within the program and with Barrie resources to ensure student progress and success
