Job Description
The candidate should be able to perform various Upholstery activities like: Remove, install, Rework, Adjust leather or fabric covers on all the different components from the seats/Divans. The experience could be relative from any of the following industries (automotive, furniture or boating etc.).
Upholsterers are responsible for fabricating custom designs made out of fabric and other materials. Work for various industries, such as aircraft production. The work involves cutting, measuring, and sewing. Skilled at reading patterns and working with industrial sewing machines and other equipment such as grommet machines, heat seal machines, and more. It is highly repetitive production work that requires precision and a good eye for detail.
CORE TASKS:
sewing machine setup (changing thread, bobbins, and needles as needed)
needle prepping and joining
creating and cutting patterns
inspecting product for defects, damage, or stains
marking products, work pieces, or equipment with identifying information
comparing physical characteristics of materials or products to specifications or standards
Interpreting cover patterns to perform sewing functions
Cut leather and fabric as needed using patterns
Prepare sewing pieces for Master Seamstress
Sew leather and fabric dress coves with very high precision and very high quality expectations
Operator needs to be able to perform top stitch (single and double) on leather and fabric
