Unloader/Forklift Operator

As a forklift operator, you will be responsible for the safe operation of a forklift and you will work with shipping and receiving to assist in loading and unloading recycled materials, you will also sort materials as needed. About 75% of the time you will be on a forklift but you need to be prepared to assist in cleaning and hand unloading when necessary as well. You will not remain on your forklift all 8 hours of your shift. You will be working in an environment that is exposed to outdoor elements and temperatures.
You must have consistent, reliable attendance and practice Safety First, Last and Always!
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operates forklift in accordance with Royal Oak Recycling and OSHA guidelines.
• Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner.
• Load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials using various types of forklifts or other power equipment 75% of specified shift.
• Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
• Complete daily inspection of equipment.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• One year of prior experience operating a forklift.
• Previous forklift certification preferred.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Forklift operator certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift-training program within the first 30 days of employment
• Six months warehouse experience
• Six months forklift operation
• Exemplary attendance, attitude, and work ethic.

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Job Hours:
M-F, 7a - 3:30p with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.
Occasionally we work Saturdays, but it is typically voluntary.
