Showcase donor impact and partner with the College of Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to enable the University of Nebraska to change lives and save lives.

Through the Council of Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), we seek candidates for an exclusive internship program designed to increase and diversify the number of professionals in educational advancement and attract students who may not have previously considered a career in institutional advancement. This program will occurJune 5 - July 28, 2023(eight weeks) and includes an in-depth work experience, education, and all-expenses-paid attendance at a national CASE conference in Washington D.C.,June 25-27, 2023.

In the Advancement Internship Program, you will have the opportunity to assist multiple areas within the College of Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln while showcasing the impact donors make. In this role, you will have the opportunity to create a program from the ground up; experiencing your vision turn into reality. You can expect to research and learn industry best practices, assist in the creation of marketing content, as well as connect and network with professionals in the non-profit community. This opportunity includes a $5,000 stipend payable in two installments at the end of June and July and requires a full-time 40 hour per week commitment.

Ways you'll contribute:

  • Partner with the College of Engineering development and marketing teams to create marketing materials highlighting current student stories, alumni and industry partners.
  • Seek out stories around how philanthropy has impacted the College of Engineering.
  • Learn and share how College of Engineering donors are making an impact within their communities and across the globe.
  • Conduct a peer study on how other Big10 College of Engineering institutions are sharing their alumni and donor success stories to garner best practices.
  • Work with NAA to develop content around young alumni and plan for young alumni engagement activities.

What you need:

  • Undergraduate or graduate student status at the University of Nebraska.
  • Excellent overall communication skills, as well as a highly developed sense of propriety and confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, and accuracy; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, while always keeping the needs of the donor foremost.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills when working with a variety of people.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • Demonstrated fluency with Microsoft Office products (particularly with Word and Excel), as well as database management programs.
