Job Summary
What Does the Pharmacy Residency Program Entail?
This program provides an opportunity for Pharmacy Residents to receive competitive and advanced training in a managed care setting with the nation's largest customer-owned health insurer operating health plans in Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. The program's comprehensive curriculum covers the full spectrum of pharmacy program management.
What Are the Requirements You Must Meet?

  • Be a recent graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)- accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program
  • Graduation date between December 2023-June 2024
  • Required: Attached Resume, letter of intent (cover letter), curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Completion of Pharmacy licensure within 90 days of start of residency; Desire advanced education and training that leads to an enhanced level of professional pharmacy practice
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and virtual team collaboration tools
  • Clear, Concise Verbal and written communication
  • Adhere to policies and procedures of the organization, pharmacy department and residency program
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States (currently, we are not offering this position with a student visa including F1, OPT, CPT or H1B and are not accepting student work visas for this role)
  • Be able to travel (i.e., attend conferences, assist with recruitment)

What Do You Need to Be Successful?
  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state laws
  • Independent judgment and problem resolution skills.
  • Work management skills: the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time and workload to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of pharmacy
    and pharmacology and how they apply to the operation
    of managed care pharmacy.
  • Oral and written communication skills

Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • Managed care experience
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and proprietary business information
  • Documented research and/or publications- Experience presenting to a multidisciplinary and/or
    professional audience
  • Leadership in a professional organization, awards, or honors in pharmacy and/or community service involvement

What Does the New Grad Program Entail?
  • Clinical skills and managed care knowledge learned during this
    one-year program would normally take a postgraduate three to five
    years to acquire.
