JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the director, the position serves as University Faculty Governance Coordinator. Provides expertise, training and continuity with revolving, elected leadership. Effectively and efficiently deliver high quality services to representatives and constituents. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

60% - Essential - Manages Faculty Senate and Coordinates Special Projects:

Manages approximately 50-member, revolving governing body consistent with its mission, programs and objectives. Provides expertise, trains and supports Senate leaders on policies and procedures. Identifies problems, seeks solutions and participates in management decision-making.
20% - Essential - Directs Awards and Events:
Directs two prestigious, endowed, Senate-managed faculty awards and related events for Class of '39 Award for Excellence and Centennial Professorship, as well as annual Senate Service Award. Facilitates and coordinates all related ceremonies and receptions, including event logistics, speeches and campus communication.
20% - Essential - Manages Office and Budgets, Supervises Staff:
Works with minimal supervision. Hires, trains, develops and evaluates 1-2 undergraduate interns. Conducts special projects. Participates in the management of all active and archival documentation. Manages master calendar. Participates in management of website and social media. Provides input into the budgeting process; manages purchasing, payment and reconciliation reports.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Bachelor's Degree - Relevant program experience
Experience - 1+ years

RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB KNOWLEDGE
Fundamental Job Knowledge - Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises Student Workers only - Supervises Student workers only
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides Budget Input - Provides input into the budgeting process, and oversees fund allocation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

15% - Stand for prolonged period
75% - Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period
15% - Walk or move about
100% - Communicate, converse, give direction, express oneself

WORK SCHEDULE:

Standard Hours: 37.5

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

Anticipated Hiring Range: $37,900 - $51,500

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
