Job DescriptionRole: Unisys Cobol developer
Location:Fully Remote
Term: 12 month contract + extensions. long-term engagement
Client is migrating lines of business that are currently hosted on the mainframe into Guidewire and n eed a COBOL Developer that also has analysis skills and how the coding impacts business rules. They need someone that will do 50% analyst and 50% development. Analysis is Key.
Business Rules are the sections of code in your COBOL programs that provide the business logic and functionality for your application. Conditions, calculations and proprietary algorithms control how your application works and what it actually does for your organization.

• Unisys Mainframe. 6+ years of experience with Unisys Cobol, ECL/JCL coding. ECL preferred
• Must be able to effectively perform analysis of existing Cobol programs and be able to articulate business rules within the code.
• Basic knowledge of insurance and financial services products preferred.
• Must be able to effectively communicate technical plans, strategies, and designs to all levels of the company.
• Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
• Knowledge of database applications; SQL preferred but not required
