THE OPPORTUNITY
This position is a development position for the Underwriter role. It involves completing a year-long structured training program on commercial property and casualty insurance, including course work and a review of coverage forms. During the training program, this position will also assist the underwriter by reviewing and preparing renewals and endorsements.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Participate in the structured underwriting training program.
- Review and process endorsement requests and correspondence within established authority level.
- Assist the underwriter in the review of commercial lines renewals by checking loss experience, correspondence, inspections, audits, etc., and process within established authority level.
- Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by a supervisor.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Bachelor’s degree in business related field, or equivalent education.
- Participation in insurance industry course work preferred (AU, CIC, etc.)
- 0-1 years industry experience
