Underwriting Trainee

THE OPPORTUNITY

This position is a development position for the Underwriter role. It involves completing a year-long structured training program on commercial property and casualty insurance, including course work and a review of coverage forms. During the training program, this position will also assist the underwriter by reviewing and preparing renewals and endorsements.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Participate in the structured underwriting training program.
• Review and process endorsement requests and correspondence within established authority level.
• Assist the underwriter in the review of commercial lines renewals by checking loss experience, correspondence, inspections, audits, etc., and process within established authority level.
• Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by a supervisor.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

• Bachelor’s degree in business related field, or equivalent education.
• Participation in insurance industry course work preferred (AU, CIC, etc.)
• 0-1 years industry experience
