Job Summary
Contribute to the underwriting team to achieve profitable growth goals in conjunction with the
company’s financial plan. The Underwriter Assistant provides support and assistance to the underwriting staff. Performs administrative duties regarding new and renewal policies and expedites the underwriting process by providing administrative, risk assessment, and loss rating support to the underwriters.
Responsibilities
· Complete understanding of the underwriting guidelines/manuals.
· Reviewing quotes to confirm eligibility.
· Review the existing book of business to confirm a renewal offer is warranted.
· Working with other departments within the company to provide the required documentation
· Being a liaison between the Customer Service and Underwriting Departments.
· Able to assist our independent agent’s inquiries regarding eligibility questions.
Qualifications and Requirements
· Associate degree preferred.
· An active 2-20 or 4-40 insurance license is preferred.
· Good communication skills, written and oral.
· Able to adapt to changing business needs and is focused on the highest priorities first.
