Holtmeier Construction is seeking an underground foreman to join our fast-paced utility, aggregate crushing, and quarry teams for the upcoming construction season.
Skills amp; Qualifications:
· Have thorough knowledge and insight of outdoor construction in various environments.
· Valid Drivers license, a commercial driver’s license is greatly preferred.
· Attention to safety of self and others at all times.
· Excellent attendance, arriving to work prepared for the day.
· Willingness to direct, teach, and communicate with others.
· Treat equipment, tools, and peers with respect at all times.
· Experience operating a wide variety of equipment.
· Functional level of Excel.
· Knowledge of storm, sanitary, and watermain systems.
· Must have ability to pass a physical exam and drug test.
A day in the life as an Underground Foreman at Holtmeier:
In this position you are a part of a team that overlooks operators and general construction workers. As a foreman you will supervise either the entirety of a job or a portion, if more than one crew is present. Having a comprehensive, yet fluid plan on how to execute the tasks required for the given site. Communication between employees, utility companies, inspectors, suppliers, truckdrivers, and residents is key to the efficiency and success of a project. You are responsible for all the tracking and reporting that your crew does, while also filling a variety of rolls on the crew depending on what the task calls for that day.
Benefits amp; Compensation- Holtmeier Construction is a union and non-union company. Foreman are generally union positions with I.O.U.E Local 49. Holtmeier Construction offers health insurance and retirement benefits to non-union employees. We generally work 10–12-hour work days and occasional Saturdays during the busy season. Pay is based on qualifications.
