S.J. Louis Construction, a nationally recognized Underground Utilities contractor national construction contractor has an immediate need for a project Superintendent.
This position manages construction crew employees, equipment, subcontractors, and materials on projects assigned in the region of responsibility for heavy construction- water and sewer projects. Superintendents work together with General Superintendents, Estimators and Project Managers/Engineers, to plan, schedule, instruct, and train in the completion of Water & Sewer/ underground tunneling projects from start to finish. All activities of a Superintendent follow Company policies, procedures, and guidelines. This position provides leadership and management to crews focusing on safe, profitable, productive and quality work every day at worksites across the country.

Position Responsibilities Include:
Ensures planning and carrying out of activities that will maintain a safe project site
Enforces strict compliance of all safety requirements and ensures appropriate level of rewards or reprimands
Partners with estimators and project managers to insure maximum efficiency and profitability through understanding of project plans, specs, and scope of work.
Ensures that schedules are prepared timely and reviewed with appropriate staff
Focuses project team to consistently exceed estimated labor production estimates
Owners, Inspectors, and Internal Management are kept informed of work progress
Ensures employees and equipment are matched with work appropriately
Interacts with subcontractors and material vendors for uninterrupted work flow
Makes personnel related decisions or recommendations
Do you meet the requirements we are seeking?
Requirements:
10 years Underground Utilities and/or civil construction leadership experience is required; large diameter, deep underground pipe experience preferred
Ability to travel extensively to projects across the U.S.
Ability to use construction industry software; HCSS, Excel, Word, etc.
Proven organizational and planning capabilities
Effective written and verbal communication skills
