Project Title: Advancing Analytical Frameworks: Enhancing data processing for process development
The co-op runs from May 6th - December 6th at our Cambridge, MA site. This project is dedicated to enhancing the capacity for processing substantial volumes of big data within the analytical framework. It encompasses a range of studies, including but not limited to Statistical Design of Experiments (DOE), One Factor at a Time (OFAT), and Process Characterization (PC). The primary objective of these endeavors is to amass significant data to support process development and elucidate the nuanced relationship between raw materials and process execution, with a particular focus on the quality of the drug substance. These studies frequently involve experiments with extensive datasets aimed at establishing and informing an effective control strategy through comprehensive data analysis. However, traditional analytical data analysis depends on a manual, high-cognitive-load, and labor-intensive process often resulting in repeated efforts and inefficiencies. To address this challenge, there is a need to explore automated software solutions that can streamline analysis processes and reveal meaningful relationships within the data. Such solutions not only offer the potential for standardization and adherence to good documentation practices but also facilitate a deeper understanding of the underlying processes.
The project's objective will be enhanced data processing efficiency with reduced time and effort, identification of meaningful relationships between process parameters and product quality, and facilitation of process understanding through complex data patterns.
Skills that will be fostered/acquired are strategic thinking, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and innovative technology integration.
Responsibilities include:
Assessing and addressing several key points which include: Integrated software solutions that involve creation of algorithms for data analysis, visualization tools and user -friendly interfaces.
Researching and implementing advanced statistical and machine learning techniques for analyzing large datasets generated from experiments such as DOE, OFAT, and PC. This includes identifying relevant variables, detecting patterns, and extracting meaningful insights from the data.
Ensuring the automated solutions adhere to regulatory requirements and establish protocols for data integrity.
