Summary of Position
An ultrasound technician works directly with patients and physicians and operates equipment that uses high-frequency soundwaves to take images and scans of the body's internal organs. An ultrasound technician is also known as a diagnostic medical sonographer or as a sonographer.
Responsibilities:
- Explaining the ultrasound procedure to patients, answering their questions, and providing support.
- Spread the ultrasound gel on the surface of patients' bodies over the internal area to be imaged.
- Programming and adjusting the scanner for the specific procedure and ensuring the transducer captures images from every angle or section as needed.
- Deciding which still images, or sonograms, to capture and present to the Physician for diagnostic purposes.
- Evaluating the images for quality and interpreting the images to assist the Physicians in diagnosing and treating diseases.
- Present the images and your preliminary findings to the Physicians.
Qualifications / Skills:
- 1+ years current experience
- North Dakota MIRT License
- Require a traveler who can do general, OB/GYN, some vascular, small parts, and some procedures.
- BLS (AHA)
- ARDMS
- ECHO experience - Preferred
- Rural Experience - Highly Preferred
- Covid Vaccination
Salary Range: $62 - $65 per hour on W2
