Missouri Ozarks Community Health–Mansfield Clinic is currently accepting applications for a full-time Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer.
Under physician direction and following established standards, policies, and procedures, this candidate will perform diagnostic sonographic examinations using ultrasonic equipment to capture images crucial for the detection of illness, injury, and other medical conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Patient communication and preparation including removal of garments, jewelry, etc. that may interfere with procedure and explain how the process works. Explain the procedure in layperson terms to ensure patient’s comfort.
- Must be able to communicate calmly, compassionately, and professionally with all diverse types of patients including the elderly, youth, ailing, handicapped and expecting mothers.
- Must be able to closely follow physician instructions, prepare sonographic equipment, position patients, and obtain the best images for diagnosis.
- Applying their knowledge of anatomy and physiology to the process to help the physician diagnose problems.
- Utilize knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology to pinpoint areas of imaging as well as detect signs of abnormalities, infections, cancerous and non-cancerous tumors, and other types of irregularities.
- Knowledge on reading the imaging screen, properly place imaging equipment according to the scanning area, and adjust settings for optimized images.
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient record and recording medical histories.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in sonography or Graduate of an Ultrasound Technician program required.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in one or more of the following areas: Abdomen, OB/GYN, vascular, echo preferred.
- Experience as an OB/GYN Ultrasound Technician preferred.
- Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) preferred.
- Possess reading and verbal skills necessary to understanding medical records, procedures and all other duties.
- Mandatory vaccination policies are in place unless you qualify for an exemption and potential employees will receive and must pass a drug/alcohol screening prior to employment.
