Job description

Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine as an Ultrasound Technologist with our OB/GYN clinic at our Hyde Park campus. In this role you will partner with the rest of the clinical team to provide patients the highest quality of care.

 

In this role, the Ultrasound Technologist will perform Ultrasound and related procedures to demonstrate sectional anatomic images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. The technologist will provide appropriate patient care and recognize patient’s conditions essential for successful completion of the procedures. The services are provided in accordance with industry standards, department protocols and hospital policies and procedures. Preferred skill set includes: performing gynecologic ultrasound, as well as, comprehensive ultrasound, recognition of fetal anomalies, Nuchal Translucency, fetal Doppler studies, antenatal testing, and assist for procedures including amniocentesis, cyst drainage, and chorionic villus sampling. 3D/4D Ob/Gyn experience a plus.

 

Qualifications:

  • OB-GYN experience strongly preferred
  • Satisfactory completion of AMA approved Ultrasound training program
  • 2 years Ultrasound experience in obstetrics, gynecology, transvaginal imaging and color Doppler
  • Good knowledge of pathology in OB/GYN imaging preferred
  • Effective communication skills and excellent patient care skills required
  • Handle high pressure, fast paced work environment
  • Excellent team work
  • Experience with GE and Philips Ultrasound machines preferred
     

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current registry by ARDMS in OB/GYN Imaging
  • CPR and BLS training required

  • Job Type/FTE: Part-Time (.5FTE)
  • Shift: Days - 8:00am-6:30pm, Saturday and Sunday 
  • Unit/Department: Ultrasound 
  • CBA Code: Non-Union
