Specialty medical group seeks an experienced, ARDMS-certified, OBGYN Ultrasonographer. The ideal candidate would have experience in high-risk obstetrical ultrasound and be familiar with American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) standards.
OB/GYN Ultrasound Technician
Job Description:
- Ultrasound Imaging: Perform ultrasound examinations to visualize and assess the female reproductive organs including the uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes.
- Prenatal Care: Conduct obstetric ultrasound scans to monitor fetal development, including measurements of fetal growth, detecting any abnormalities, and determining the baby's position in the womb.
- Gynecological Imaging: Conduct scans to diagnose conditions such as ovarian cysts, fibroids, endometriosis, and pelvic inflammatory disease.
- Patient Interaction: Interact with patients to explain procedures, answer questions, and ensure their comfort and understanding throughout the examination process.
- Equipment Operation: Operate ultrasound equipment proficiently to obtain high-quality images, making adjustments as necessary to optimize visualization.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of patient information, ultrasound images, and examination findings in accordance with healthcare regulations and protocols.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care, including discussing examination results and assisting in treatment planning.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality assurance standards to uphold the highest level of patient care and accuracy in imaging.
- Continuing Education: Stay updated on advancements in ultrasound technology, techniques, and medical knowledge through continuing education and professional development activities.
- Compliance: Adhere to all legal and ethical standards related to patient confidentiality, informed consent, and professional conduct.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited ultrasound technology program.
- Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) with specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and interpreting images.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical standards.
