Underground Surveyor 1, 2, or 3

Location:

Stillwater Mine - Nye, MT

Schedule:

5x2, 4x3 - 9-hour days

or

Rotating - 5x4x4x5

Day Shift: 7:00am - 6:30pm

Night Shift: 7:00pm - 6:30am

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to Plan and execute surface and underground survey activities in a safe, efficient manner; prepare maps and records of surveys; line and grade for UG excavations; produce as-built drawings of excavations; measure excavation advances at determined intervals; maintain and manage control point and survey files, both electronic and hard copy; comply with State and Federal safety and environmental regulations and company policies and standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

Required:

• Familiar with Autocad, Excel and Word software programs.
• Ability to multi-task and work efficiently.
• Ability to work effectively as a team or alone with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal & written communication skills.
• Understanding/compliance with Company safety policies and procedures.

Preferred:

• Strong understanding of underground mining methods/terminology.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and AutoCAD/Promine software.
• Ability to calculate stope & development miners' incentive.
• Strong awareness and understanding of the day-to-day mine operations.
• Experience with underground mining contract/incentive systems.

Education & Experience

• 1 to 2 years survey crew experience, preferably underground, AND/OR 1-year college education in survey related field (preferred). Willing to train the right candidate.
