Community Impact Intern
Locations: Remote
- Assist the Community Impact department of Jamboree by means of data analytics, research projects, and community engagement.
- Compile information on resources, agencies, and educational materials that would benefit Jamboree residents and staff.
- Disseminate data and present recommendations for new opportunities within the organization.
- Assist Community Impact team members with seasonal projects.
- Occasional site visits to participate in events led by Resident Services Coordinators.
- Other duties as assigned.
Food Program Intern
Locations: Remote, Occasional visits to food distribution locations
- Work productively and proactively with Coordinators and housing community
- Research local food resources relevant to specific demographics of Jamboree residents
- Call/email residents to notify them of upcoming food distributions
- Audit expiration dates for food handler licenses and contracts
- Maintain attendance records for programs and events
- Provide administrative support (filing, faxing, copying, data entry, etc)
- Assist at food distributions by taking photos for marketing and organizing food
- Submit forms and documentation to food distribution partners
- Attend team meetings and trainings
- Other duties as assigned
GIS Intern
Prerequisites: Be able to understand, support, and operate ArcGIS (ArcGIS Pro or Map). Intermediate to advanced Python experience is preferred.
Locations: Remote, Occasional visits to Irvine Office
- Assist in developing the existing ESRI-GIS amenities program within the Business Development department.
- Assist in locating specific amenities such as pharmacies, grocery stores, etc., within a certain distance of current and/or future Jamboree properties.
- Work productively and proactively with Real Estate Development team
- Maintain organized spatial data and document files
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of documents for Real Estate Development
Resident Services Intern
Locations: "Anaheim, Brea, El Monte, Irvine, Long Beach, Riverside
- Work productively and proactively with Resident Service Coordinator and housing community
- Assists in maintaining facility and equipment (including clean up)
- Provide support to the RSC by assisting in the setup of activities, work areas, distributing and collecting supplies
- Maintain attendance records for programs and events
- Provide administrative support (filing, faxing, copying, data entry, etc)
- Assists Resident Service Coordinator with conducting a progressive, challenging after-school program
- Assist youth with homework, providing basic math, reading, and writing help
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of after-school snacks and enrichment programs
- Research local resources and events for potential resident programs
- Serve as a role model to youth in the community
Senior Services Intern
Locations: Irvine, Mission Viejo
- Assist coordinators with various educational/wellness topics
- Assist in planning and facilitating community events; food distribution, arts & crafts, birthday parties, bingo
- Make positive contact with isolated seniors and encourage them to seek support
- Administrative support; designing calendars, flyers, research programs
- Other duties as assigned
Supportive Services Intern
Locations: Anaheim, Buena Park
- Assist in leading groups at Jamboree's Permanent Supportive Housing Apartments on various topics such as vocation, self-development, health & wellness, recreation, life skills and mental health
- Observe and conduct case management check-ins with clients focused on providing resources and referrals
- Shadow and assist in resident crisis intervention when necessary
- Participate trainings related to mental health, case management, and working with diverse and underserved populations
- Administrative support; filing case files, documentation, attendance tracking
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Over 18 years of age
- Must be completing internship for academic credit through a college or university
- Ability to work with low-income individuals and/or individuals experiencing homelessness
- Interpersonal skills using patience, courtesy and problem solving ability
- Exceptional written, oral, and presentation communication abilities
- Drive to make a positive impact in our community
- Background check required
- Be able to understand and support the completion of basic elementary school homework (Resident Services)
- Patience and compassion for working with our senior residents (Senior Services)
