Salary range: Hourly, Part-time (pay range $25-$40/hr based on experience)
Level 3 High-Intensity Tutors are responsible for providing focused and intensive academic support to small groups of eligible students who have met the criteria for this service and require extra assistance in grades 3-8 reading and/or math. The role involves providing instructional support under the direction of a regular education teacher, specialist, or administrator who will provide detailed instructions and plans for the tutor to implement.
Key responsibilities for Level 3 tutors:
- Delivering instructional support based on the tutoring lesson plans and/or instructions provided
- Collaboration with classroom teachers, specialists, and administration
- Reporting on progress and student learning needs
- Maintaining accurate records of each student's progress, including attendance and assessment results
Qualifications of Level 3 Tutors:
- Non-RCPS employee
- Instructional experience in a relevant subject area or grade level preferred
- Prior experience or teaching in small-group settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with students of varying abilities
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
