Trucking Dispatcher (Pm)

ITS is looking for a reliable Dispatcher to act as a communication point for emergency and non-emergency calls. The dispatcher will be responsible for using the latest in routing software to establish daily trucking routes that make required stops outlined in customer contracts. The successful candidate for this position needs to be able to adjust to last-minute changes and work with drivers to schedule emergency pick-up or delivery for new or established clients when necessary. The ideal candidate must be primarily an excellent communicator and able to remain calm, organized, and composed, especially in emergency situations. You must be able to multi-task as well as take the appropriate action with little supervision. The goal is to enable different parties to communicate well by ensuring the accurate and timely transmission of information.

This position enjoys a 4 day workweek, shifts are planned through the PM hours.

Responsibilities

• Develop delivery routes and maintain contact with drivers throughout the day.
• Navigate various platforms with proficiency to bring solutions in asset management and alerts for your team
• Collaborate with management to modify daily routes to accommodate the needs of customers.
• Act as a communication liaison and answer the incoming phone calls from drivers on the road.
• Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last-minute schedule changes.
• Monitor any sudden route changes or road construction issues and work with drivers to establish new routes for timely deliveries.
• Manage existing client relationships; understand the requirements of existing customers to ensure their needs are being met.

Skills

• Strong customer service and being able to predict customer expectations and prioritize based on urgency
• Data Entry Proficiency and Accuracy
• Excellent oral and written skills in English and Spanish (Preferred)
• Proactive, impartial and dynamic
• Proven experience as dispatcher or relevant position
• Tech-savvy with knowledge of relevant methods
• Fast typing with experience in data entry
• Knowledge of procedures and guideline for emergency situations
• Proficient in English (oral and written)
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
• Active listener with excellent communication skills
• Sound judgement and critical thinking
• High school diploma
