  • The operator provides the movement of personnel on buses and cargo on trucks classified as Class A vehicles in support of USASOC and its subordinate units.
  • Driving requirements are infrequent and normally local or confined to the eastern United States; however, some missions require long-haul movements across the United States.
  • Transportation specialists assist the team in managing approximately 1,000 assigned vehicles at 15 locations in the United States and Europe ensuring a current dispatch is maintained, all maintenance is performed as required, replacement vehicles are ordered and the acquisition process is tracked, vehicles are rotated based on usage, and requests for additional vehicles are processed through the G-4. Provide movement of NTVs to and from maintenance facilities, motor pool, and other locations as required.
  • Provide preventive maintenance checks and services to the pooled vehicle fleet and ensure vehicles are clean and prepared for the next customer.
  • Monitor fleet telematics devices for operational status, and use the computer system to identify and correct unauthorized use, speeding, and unsafe driving actions.
  • Conduct troubleshooting techniques on fleet telematics devices as necessary.
  • Create and run telematics reports based on customer needs.
  • Analyze report data to make vehicle assignment decisions and justify fleet reductions or increases.
  • Assists in vehicle budget processes to include validating monthly leasing costs, toll and maintenance fees and other related costs.
  • May also conduct duties related to rental car programs and personnel travel using military aircraft.
  • Operates computer systems needed to conduct vehicle and transportation functions.
  • May be required to remain on standby or on-call status after the conclusion of the normal duty day/week.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Possess a valid, unencumbered state driver's license.
  • Possess and maintain Class "A" Commercial Driver's License with Hazmat endorsement.
  • Be able to drive Government-owned trucks, buses, vans, and cars.
  • Possess excellent work ethic, verbal and written communication skills, and be detailed and accurate in performing all functions.
