Position: Truck Driver/Heavy Equipment Operator/Warehouse Clerk Location: Child Nutrition Dept/WarehouseResponsibility: To assist in supervision and maintain the warehouse. Maintain inventory of textbooks on database for Berkeley County. Expedite the delivery of school-related correspondence, supplies and instructional materials.

Truck Driver/Heavy Equipment Operator/Warehouse Clerk performs duties efficiently and productively by:Delivering to all schools mail and supplies distributed through the Central Office and other designated locations.Making scheduled pick-ups and deliveries to all Berkeley County Board of Education facilities.Delivering inter-school correspondence such as mail, textbooks and audio visual materials.Distributing school custodial supplies from warehouse.Maintaining clerical work involved in courier position.Processing warehouse orders.Assisting in the unpacking items received, verifying accuracy of shipments, inspecting for damage or defects and recording discrepanciesAssisting in taking physical count of stock on hand and in verifying count with inventory control totals.Assisting in all other duties as assigned by supervisor.Courier must be able to lift 80-100 pounds.Gain Knowledge of all textbook titles used in the County.Demonstrating computer knowledge of database and internet e-mail.Demonstrating knowledge of office equipment.Monitoring stock levels.Demonstrate knowledge of custodial cleaning and office supplies.Ability to unload trucks, climb ladders and stock shelves.Receiving deliveries from supply vendors and then distributing to building sites.
During the months of June through September there is a heavy inflow of textbooks that need sorted and packed to be distributed to building sites.Assisting Coordinator with maintaining an extensive computerized database of all inventories in warehouse and in building sites.Maintain donated food inventory on database.Maintain organization at the warehouse.Being able to lift 80-100 lbs.Operate fork lift, electric pallet jack and stand up reach forklift.Supervise donated food program at warehouse.Maintaining security at the warehouse.Maintain warehouse building and surrounding property (cleaning/mowing/snow removal)Be available for after hour emergencies as needed.Carry county cell phone for emergency calls.County uniform is required. LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
