Medium Truck (20X24) Warehouse Material Transport Services
Candidate will support our contract with the Bureau of Fiscal Service.
a. Perform daily safety checks on motor vehicles utilized for the provision of transport services, per Agency Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)s.
b. Perform minor preventive maintenance tasks as required for the safe operation of motor vehicles to make sure they are clean and in working condition. The authorized vehicle driver shall perform a pre and post trip safety check that includes checking:
- Mirrors
- Warning devices, such as horn and back-up lights (sound-warnings)
- Turn signals
- Exterior and interior lights
- Brakes
The driver shall inform the supervisor of any defects or problems encountered during the safety check, so those defects can be addressed.
c. Refuel and replenish fluids such as oil, brake and windshield washer as required for the safe operation of motor vehicles. (Note: refueling of vehicles is prohibited during delivery runs. Refueling and preventive maintenance services are to take place prior to or after daily courier/transport activities.)
d. Maintain familiarity with local roads in areas around and between Fiscal Service delivery locations. Use this knowledge to re-route efficiently, as necessitated by changing traffic conditions.
e. Assist warehouse and laborers with loading and unloading of motor vehicles, as required.
f. Ensure that all materials being transported are stowed and secured safely within the motor vehicle at all times.
g. Ensure that all materials are removed from motor vehicle and stored properly at the end of each day.
h. Respond to dispatches for materials transported to and from Fiscal Service delivery locations as directed by the Supervisor or as technically directed by the Government’s Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR). Operate motor vehicle to and from dispatched locations in a safe and expedient manner.
i. Upon delivery, obtain signatures from authorized Fiscal Service employees acknowledging receipt of materials, per Agency SOPs.
j. Maintain valid and appropriate driver’s license for all operated vehicles.
k. Assist warehouse personnel in performance of duties when not performing transportation requirements.
