N/A JOB OVERVIEW:
The Truck Driver 3 is directly involved in Blue Diamond’s mission to deliver the goodness of almonds to the world! As a Truck Driver 3, you will operate a Class A truck on the road pulling vans or bulk trailers to various Blue Diamond sites and storage facilities. Following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), and safety procedures will be required in every aspect of this position. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates 3-axel trucks and or highway-rated trucks pulling flatbed doubles, bulk trailers, or belly dumpers to various locations inside and outside the plant to ensure the product is properly loaded, secured, and transported safely to its destination.
- Travels an average of 150-mile radius.
- Loads and unloads flatbed trailers.
- Operates front end-loaders and or forklifts.
- Completes pre- and post-vehicle inspections daily along with routine safety forklift and front-loader checks including cleaning.
- Follows California driving rules and regulations.
- Performs monthly JJ Keller training.
- Utilizes the Samsara Software System to track hours, routes, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Minimum qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 5 years of experience driving a truck tractor pulling flatbeds or bulk trailers or 3 years of experience driving a 3-axel truck; experience greater than or equal to one million miles of driving
- Class A driver’s license, safe driving record, and willingness to undergo a physical examination as needed.
- Forklift certification.
- Pallet Yard experience and knowledge of the Blue Diamond inventory process
- Ability to work a variety of shifts and overtime as needed.
- This position requires sitting, walking, and lifting less than 10 pounds for long periods of time throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift 20-25 lbs. overhead to close tarps, open and close belly dumper trucks, and use cranks.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a standard manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, hazardous materials, and heavy machinery in varying work and weather conditions. You may be required to occasionally climb stairs and/or ladders. Team member safety is very important to us, and more information is available through Blue Diamond Health and Safety.
