Who You Are:
You are a resourceful, innovative, and proactive team player that loves to understand the product from the inside out. You will innovatively source and develop seasonal trim while upholding the Michael Kors Men’s Collection aesthetic for all price categories. You will provide creative input while managing seasonal orders for protos and samples. You are up to date on current trends and stay ahead on market research.
What You’ll Do:
- Understand the Michael Kors aesthetic and translate it into appropriate products.
- Source trim seasonally, reporting directly to Senior Manager of Men’s Materials within the Men’s Design Division.
- Maintain & Update PLM trim, from proto through production.
- Launch trim development, and assessed, comment on trim proto development.
- Collaborate with design team to ensure proper fit & construction of trim.
- Research global markets in order to identify new trends, techniques, materials, etc.
- Actively participate in the conceptual development of innovative and directional product lines (i.e., sell ideas/concepts and convince others to adopt a course of action).
- Work with cross functional partners (PD, Design) and maintain constant alignment throughout the design process with the group.
- Ensure that product is consistent with market trends as well as business strategy; interpret international/domestic concepts and fashion trends as it relates to market demands, company image and business strategy.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Daily communication with overseas agents/partners.
- Create & present seasonal trim concept/inspiration boards.
- Maintain sample order charts and records.
- Approve all color lab dips for sample and bulk stage.
- Maintain trim and reference library.
- Approve invoices for urgent trim orders and new developments.
You’ll Need to Have:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree.
- Must be proficient in web PLM, Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop, Microsoft Word, and Excel programs.
- In-depth knowledge of trim construction and materials.
- Experience working with factories and overseas partners.
- Strong design and conceptual skills.
- Ability to set a creative tone and to inspire ideas/new concepts.
