Trellis Cafe Line Cook
Wage: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Shift: Full-time. Monday through Friday and some Saturdays; Closed Sundays

Purpose:
The Trellis Café Line Cook will prepare, cook and store all food served at the Trellis Café and will also maintain the kitchen, walk-ins, dry storage and dish area. Dish and ware washing responsibilities will be shared with Server/Cashier.
Major responsibilities include:
- Maintaining set pars of food quantity
- Assuring that the quality of the food is up to the set standards.
- Maintaining personal workspace cleanliness and organization.
- Maintaining a sense of urgency during entire shift.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain the quantity of the food based on set pars.
- Maintain the quality of the food based on set standards.
- Maintain a clean workstation and kitchen.
- Stay busy at all times, help others or find additional tasks.
- Encourage co-workers to do the same.
- Maintain strict control of food waste and correct storage.
- Complete tasks efficiently and quickly.
- Create and execute daily specials to utilize any excess food from main kitchen.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
Education:
- Current Utah County Food Handler's Permit
- High School Graduate. Willing to continue education of food while on the job.
- Diploma or AAS Degree in Culinary Arts highly recommended
Experience:
- 2 Years kitchen line experience required.
Skills:
- Must be able to communicate clearly and quickly in English.
- Must be able to work unsupervised and create and complete task lists.
- Must have good knife skills.
- Must have a good sense of timing and urgency.
- Must understand a variety of cooking techniques.
- Must be able to take assignments willingly.
- Must love food and feeding people.
- Must be able to lift heavy things.(40 lbs.)
