Wage: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Shift: Full-time. Monday through Friday and some Saturdays; Closed Sundays

Purpose:

The Trellis Café Line Cook will prepare, cook and store all food served at the Trellis Café and will also maintain the kitchen, walk-ins, dry storage and dish area. Dish and ware washing responsibilities will be shared with Server/Cashier.

Major responsibilities include:

• Maintaining set pars of food quantity
• Assuring that the quality of the food is up to the set standards.
• Maintaining personal workspace cleanliness and organization.
• Maintaining a sense of urgency during entire shift.

Essential Functions:

• Maintain the quantity of the food based on set pars.
• Maintain the quality of the food based on set standards.
• Maintain a clean workstation and kitchen.
• Stay busy at all times, help others or find additional tasks.
• Encourage co-workers to do the same.
• Maintain strict control of food waste and correct storage.
• Complete tasks efficiently and quickly.
• Create and execute daily specials to utilize any excess food from main kitchen.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

Education:

• Current Utah County Food Handler's Permit
• High School Graduate. Willing to continue education of food while on the job.
• Diploma or AAS Degree in Culinary Arts highly recommended

Experience:

• 2 Years kitchen line experience required.

Skills:

• Must be able to communicate clearly and quickly in English.
• Must be able to work unsupervised and create and complete task lists.
• Must have good knife skills.
• Must have a good sense of timing and urgency.
• Must understand a variety of cooking techniques.
• Must be able to take assignments willingly.
• Must love food and feeding people.
• Must be able to lift heavy things.(40 lbs.)
