Tree Care Sales

Job Summary                                                                                                                                                                                        We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Tree Care Sales Professional to join our team. This individual will be responsible for generating and closing sales for our Tree Care services. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of landscape management, pest/disease background, a passion for outdoor aesthetics, and a proven track record of exceeding sales targets.
Compensation: $55,000-$75,000 base with 7% commission on residential sales and 4% on commercial sales. A minimum of $500,000 sold per year is expected.Expectations                                                                                                                                                                                         

• Usually work 5 days a week from 8 am to 5pm with potential weekend work.
• Assist in sales activities such as home shows, training other salespeople, and travel when needed.
• Utilize web-based programs for tracking sales leads and other technology available.
• Return calls/leads within 24 hours of receiving them.
• License with a clean driving record.
• 30% time dedicated to finding new leads, 50% time dedicated to following up on leads generated, 20% time spent on training self and others.
• Submit a weekly report to your director.
• Communicate clearly and often with all people involved in the selling process.
• Other duties as assigned.

 Key Duties and Responsibilities                                                                                                                                                       Prospecting and Lead Generation:

• Identify and engage potential clients through various methods, including cold calling, networking, referrals, and online research for residential and commercial work.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients.

Needs Assessment:

• Conduct site visits to assess the landscape maintenance needs of potential clients.
• Offer expert advice and recommendations on services that would benefit the client's specific property.

Proposal Development:

• Create customized and detailed proposals, including service descriptions, pricing, and maintenance schedules.
• Clearly articulate the value and benefits of our landscape maintenance services.

Sales Presentations:

• Deliver persuasive and informative presentations to potential clients.
• Address client inquiries, concerns, and objections effectively.

Negotiation and Closing:

• Negotiate terms, contracts, and pricing to secure new deals.
• Meet or exceed sales targets and quotas.

Client Relationship Management:

• Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
• Act as a trusted advisor, providing ongoing support and communication.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities                                                                                                                                 

• Proven track record in landscape maintenance or related sales roles.
• Strong knowledge of landscape management and maintenance practices.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Self-motivated and goal oriented.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Knowledge of local landscape regulations and best practices is a plus.
• Able to attain an ISA Certified Arborist certification within 1 year.
• Ability to utilize computers/phones and software programs efficiently.
• Learn about pest and diseases related to Tree Care.
• Learn Tree Care terminology.

Education                                                                                                                                                                                               Preferred four-year degree in Horticulture, Business, Forestry, or equivalent experience in the field.

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 40 pounds. Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in possibly extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind.
