Description
Entry level position responsible for learning proper plant operation and monitoring of the treatment process of a Waste Water Treatment Plant.

Example Of Duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as dictated by operational necessity.
• Monitor the treatment process by visual and lab testing as per operations guidelines and guidance of a licensed operator.
• Adjust chemicals of the treatment process to adhere to treatment guidelines with the guidance of a licensed operator.
• Maintain proper and adequate operations log. Record test results and all other required data required by the supervisor used for state monthly reports.
• Monitor the operation of plant equipment, i.e.: chemical pumps, high service pumps, sludge pumps, for proper operations.
• Maintain and monitor adequate system pressure through surveillance of control board.
• Coordinate after-hours emergency call-out as per procedures.
• Perform maintenance/custodial duties as required each shift at the main plant and remote sites.
• Advance towards obtaining a "C" license with continuing education.

• Knowledge of basic building and facilities maintenance practices.
• Knowledge of basic mechanical, plumbing, heating, and electrical systems.
• Basic skills in working with mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors, and switches.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written, especially in receiving and carrying out instructions.
• Skilled in use of hand tools and other light equipment.
• Able to analyze complex situations and reach effective solutions to problems.
• Able to work independently in the absence of direct supervision.
• Able to effectively manage stressful conditions.
• Able to learn and retain information of a highly technical nature.
• Able to listen to accept performance criticism and modify behavior appropriately.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIO.NS:
• High school diploma or equivalency certificate required.
• Valid Florida driver's license required.
• Successfully complete all required preparatory courses and obtain a Florida Class "C" waste water license within two (2) years of date of hire as a trainee.
