Job Description:

The Treasury Consolidation Specialist is responsible for various back-office functions (e.g., investment holdings reconciliation, cash tie-outs, daily collateral exchange process, etc). The specialist manages critical treasury audit controls to ensure regulatory compliance. This role engages in special projects to support departmental initiatives. He/She provides support to the capital markets and accounting teams for Treasury risk areas.

Executes various Back-Office functions:

• Prepares various reconciliations on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to ensure accurate holdings reporting
• Performs daily mark-to-market process and works with counterparties to agree upon daily collateral exchange
• Manages cash balances (for derivatives and margin bank accounts) and queries bank account information from treasury systems
• Inputs debt interest payments into the Treasury Management System and verifies accuracy of the payment amount
• Prepares forecasts for various teams (i.e., International FP&A & Cash Management) on a weekly and quarterly basis
• Works with teammates to research technical accounting guidance and supports the presentation of this research to senior Treasury management
• Works with Clearwater (investment accounting vendor) to ensure accurate reporting and correct any issues that may arise (detected by reconciliations)

Maintains Risk Accounting & Back Office Documentation

• Maintains the Standard Operating Procedures and prepares any necessary updates
• Implements process improvement strategies: reviews current workflow to identify areas for improvement and innovation

Supports Automation of the Back-Office functions:

• Works with the Treasury systems team to support automation of treasury accounting and back-office functions
• Tests the automation output to ensure accuracy

Supports the Treasury Risk Accounting function:

• Prepares the monthly margin GL accounting entries (collateral balance and interest entries)
• Consolidates and communicates all debt payments to the corporate accounting department for month-end reporting

Preferences

• Possesses ability to generate reports using basic functions in software, and writing basic queries; identifies information required to complete reports and identifies existing reports generated by others
• Demonstrates an understanding of technology used by the company; communicates basic technological concepts/terminology; applies standard technology in daily work
• Bachelor’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree); preferred BA in Accounting or Economics.
• Possesses strong interpersonal skills (oral and written)
• Experience performing advanced tasks in Microsoft Excel and Access (formula creation, Pivot Tables, database creation, complex query creation)
