Travel Welder And Fabricator

Lucas Industrial is a commercial welding and metal fabrication contractor serving a variety of customers including industrial/commercial companies and general contractors.

We are seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator for a traveling position. This person will be responsible for various types of weld preparation, rigging, erecting, welding and weld finishing operations to the specifications of customer drawing or other forms of instruction. Advancement opportunities are available. Travel is required.

Expected Pay: $28+

Experience Required: 2+ years welding/fabricating

Per Diem: $65/night (double occupancy)

Lodging: Fully Paid

Travel: Fully Paid

Key Duties:

• Weld structural connections up to 3 stories including joists, beams, girders, embeds and other connection types.
• Fabricate to specification various components and work with a variety of cutting, beveling, shearing and fitting equipment.
• Measuring, setup and interpretation of construction drawings and blueprints is a significant part of this position.
• Working as part of a team and individualy as needed. Must be able to critically think and problem solve.
• Operate scissor lift, forklift, telehandler, manlift, knuckle boom and other similar equipment.
• Operate welding, cutting and gouging machines.
• Other duties as needed on the job site

Requirements:

• Must be able to pass a weld test prior to employment (1G/2G/3G/4G tested on 1/2" A36 plate)
• Extensive travel required (typical tour is 10 days with 10-12 hour days) Changes are based on customer contract and timelines.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, and be capable of driving up to 10 hours
• Position requires pre-employment drug screening, criminal background screening, and driving record check.
