Travel Registered Nurse
Springfield, Missouri; Mercy Hospital
13-Week Contract/ 12-hour days / 48- hour week.
We are looking for a traveling Registered Nurse to fill a Med Surg Position
In this role RN will utilize the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
Accept a background check to be performed
Accept a drug test to be performed
Stay on your feet for 12 hour shifts
Minimum 1 year of experience in Telemetry Medicine
Currently have or willing to get the Flu vaccine prior to start
BLS Certification from AHA
NIHSS Certification (or can be obtained prior to start)
RN license in state of Assignment

Responsibilities
- Perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluations.
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort.
- Utilize lift equipment, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps and EMR-EPIC.
- Administering medications and other treatments ordered by physician.
- Educating patients on lifestyle changes and ongoing treatments prior to discharge from the hospital.
- Stays up to date on unit huddles, email, and other unit-based communications
- Participates in Process Improvement activities such as data collection, in-services, and meetings as appropriate and required.
- Communicates subjective and objective data about the patient/family and/or significant others with appropriate members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Evaluates patient response to care and in determining progress toward achievement of outcomes, and documents nursing interventions toward the patient/family promoting optimal health, healing, or dignified end of life when appropriate
