Job Overview: We are seeking a passionate and skilled Med/Surg Nurse to join our team. The Med/Surg Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Medical/Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering compassionate care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional health status.
- Create and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and physician orders.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, while ensuring accurate documentation.
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatments and medications, making appropriate adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques.
- Assist in the coordination of patient discharges, including providing discharge instructions and arranging follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient encounters, treatments administered, and related clinical activities.
- Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and protocols, including infection control measures and patient safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license in the state of New York.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Med/Surg Nurse.
- BLS, ACLS required, PALS and NIHSS preferred.
- Proficiency in administering medications and treatments.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
