Travel Medical Technologist

Summary:

A facility in Utica, NY is looking for a Medical Technologist to provide various assessments used in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conduct medical tests and analyze samples, such as tissues or body fluids, to provide information to physicians and other health care providers.

 Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for collecting and testing samples.
• Use established lab protocol to perform laboratory tests and correctly log the results of those tests
• Determine specimen validity within the first 20 minutes of receiving the specimen
• Inform clients of recollection protocols if a specimen is rejected
• Identify, diagnose, and repair issues that may arise with the laboratory equipment
• Verify all test results and ensure that they are correctly matched with the specimen
• Label and organize all tests appropriately to make sure that they are easily retrievable

 Requirements:

• Active (valid and unrestricted) ASCP certification is required.
• Current certification of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) with a Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers card.
• Must be vaccinated for Covid-19 as per the state mandate.
• 6 years' experience required.
• Friendly, professional, adaptable, flexible, and a hard worker.
• Strong attention to detail, vigilance, meticulous care on the job, and ability to handle fragile equipment.
• Research and analysis skills
• Ability to multitask and follow biohazard guidelines
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Ability to closely read instructions
  

Work details:

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift/s: 8:30 pm to 7:00 am; 10:30pm to 7:00 am
• Start date: As soon as possible
