Department – Medical Laboratory
Compensation - GVH hourly rate + bi-weekly bonus + lodging/travel/meal expenses
Shift – Must be willing to work any shift, Day/Night/Swing. Must also be willing to work Holidays.
Assignment Length – 13 weeks with the opportunity for extension
Requirements:
To be seriously considered for this role, you’ll need to have:
- Education – MT – Completion of a Medical Technology program approved by the CLSI. MLT – Completion of accredited Medical Technician Program approved by the CLSI.
- License/Certification: ASCP board certified or equivalent
- Experience – 3 years experience in a hospital laboratory required
**To be considered as a GVH Travel Nurse you must not be a current GVH employee (or have been employed by GVH in the last 12 months) or live within 100 miles of Gunnison, Colorado.
Responsibilities/Skills: The Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician performs various clinical laboratory tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease by following procedures and operating equipment as directed. The MT/MLT also performs and records test results, quality control and preventative maintenance on instruments.
- Knowledge of blood bank, chemistry, special chemistry, coagulation, hematology, serology, phlebotomy and minimal microbiology
- Consistently able to report stat results in 30-60 minutes
- Ability to test and report within required turnaround time
- Ability to demonstrate competency in routine venipuncture and special collection techniques by obtaining acceptable specimens including – blood gases, throat swabs, influenza swabs, times specimens, blood culture collection, blood bank specimens, coagulation studies difficult draws and special situations.
Compensation: MT - $28.75- $40.25/hour / MLT - $23.98 – $33.58
(PLUS BI-WEEKLY BONUS AND LODGING/MEAL/MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT ADDED TO OVERALL COMPENSATION.)

Work Environment
As a health care organization, we operate 24/7, 365 days per year. Candidates should be available to work a variety of shifts (days shift and night shift), weekends, and holidays. This position is full-time, with 12 hour shifts. This position can be fast paced at times, and slow paced at times, and candidates should be able to perform in both scenarios.
