Trauma Registrar needed to join the Tarheel Trauma Program! Flexible, Per Diem schedule
Summary:
Collects, enters and maintains data unique to the trauma registry. Accurately abstracts patient documentation to correctly code the Injury Severity Score (ISS) and probability of survival for each trauma patient admitted. Ensures adherence to protocols set forth by American College of Surgeons in order to maintain Trauma Center designation/verification. Creates and disseminates reporting of trauma registry data thru weekly, monthly and annual reports.
Responsibilities:
1. Coordinates data collection with hospital upload patient data information.
2. Coordinates data collection with other registrars in order to remain within Departmental and state requirements for data collection
3. Downloads and sends information required by the state to State Trauma Registrar by deadline.
4. Generates and develops spread sheets, graphics, slides and data base files for trauma registry quarterly and annual reports
5. Performs and assures accuracy in entry for the Hospitals trauma registry.
Other Information
Education Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- No licensure or certification required.
- Two (2) years of experience in Trauma Registry or three (3) years of experience in a medical environment in a clerical setting with six (6) months experience in ICD-9 coding.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
