- Transports patients to and from the patient care unit in a safe manner.
- Assists patients on and off x-ray table and in and out of bed as required.
- Transfers patients in and out of wheelchair as required.
- Provides for patient comfort and safety during transport.
- Assures integrity of all indwelling catheters during transport.
- Alerts nursing personnel when patients leaves or is returned to unit.
- Maintains and practices proper body mechanics.
- Demonstrates ability in the care and handling of patients in all age groups including, but not limited to, consideration of the special needs and behavior of each respective group.
- Demonstrates appropriate communication method according to age and/or disability.
- Maintains established departmental/hospital policies and procedures for quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED or relevant experience is required.
- One to two years’ experience in an acute care facility preferred.
- BLS Certification required (American Heart Association )
