SINGH TRANSPORTATION is looking for a Sales Executive/ Sales Agent that can do a little bit of both. Bring in sales and help maintain what we have. We are willing to pay a competitive salary and commission. We require this person to have a good book of customers and contacts and can bring in new accounts. POSITION SUMMARY. Responsible for maintaining the existing customer base to coordinate the transport of assigned shipments. Responsible for generating new customers for I-5 & i80 corridor. Provides support for Company dispatch to ensure production and revenue goals are met for Company and Owner Operator fleet.
This individual will be responsible for driving business growth of the brokerage by effectively responding to the needs of our client's customer sales individuals and effectively sourcing and managing the carrier base.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively Manage Carrier Relationships.
- Generate new business leads internally and externally.
- Negotiation of Rates & Services with clients for FTL, LTL, and Intermodal services.
- Respond to sales inquiries and provide pricing on transactional-based business.
- Ensure proper follow up and management of all loads by operations staff.
- Must have a sales/growth orientated mindset associated with organic growth.
- Use available industry tools and relationship to identify potential carriers.
- Communication of service expectations is a must.
- Consistently follow up to ensure loads move as expected by customers.
- Foster growth in brokerage business through collaboration with all Departments and willingness to do “Whatever it takes” to ensure customers’ needs are met.
- Experience:
- 1-3 years Brokerage experience preferred working with Domestic Truckload, LTL and Intermodal drayage shipments.
- Experience with Usps & Ups lanes would be preferred.
- Need someone that can show quick results.
- Strong market knowledge of California based carriers.
- Familiarity with DOT Trucking Regulations (Hours of Service, Claims etc).
- Proficient in using MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work in fast paced environment that involves learning and using multiple applications and handling a high volume of phone calls.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of TMS programs used for brokerage & carrier services.
- Market knowledge of Truckload Lanes, Rates and Carriers.
- Individual commitment towards sharpening existing or acquiring new skills as required by demands of the business or customers.
Job Types: Full-time, Commission
Pay: $60,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
