The purpose of the Transportation & Mobility Internship is to provide students studying Engineering, City/Regional Planning, or a related field with professional experience in a public sector organization. The intent is to provide part-time employment in the engineering/planning field as a complement to the student's graduate and/or undergraduate studies.
Scheduling/Availability: The ideal candidate will be available to work 10 hours per week during the school year and 30 hours per week during the summer. This is an in-person internship taking place in Dublin, Ohio with no remote opportunities at this time.
Intern Pay Structure
Undergraduate Freshman: $17.00/hour
Undergraduate Sophomore: $17.50/hour
Undergraduate Junior: $18.00/hour
Undergraduate Senior: $18.50/hour
First Year Graduate Student: $19.50/hour
Second Year Graduate Student: $21.00/hour

- Execute field measurements and basic calculations.
- Perform existing condition evaluations in the field.
- Visit construction sites and verify work is in conformance with plans and specifications.
- Prepare and update graphics, reports, and other materials for reports or public meetings.
- Perform miscellaneous office tasks, which may include: data entry, filing, technical research, and gathering of information.
- Scan and file documents and drawings.
- Provide record drawing information as requested.
- Respond to phone calls, emails, and service requests from residents.
- Prepare exhibits and other documents.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and access construction sites which may have uneven terrain.
- Ability to work around moving traffic, work in active right-of-way, and construction areas.
- Monitor and summarize large datasets, including parking, public transit and mobility statistics, travel speeds, and crashes.
- Currently pursuing a degree in either Civil Engineering, City/Regional Planning, Urban Design, or a related field from an ABET accredited university.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Experience with the following types of software: GIS, MS Office, and AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Prior engineering, development, urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, or other related experience (professional, volunteer, student, etc.).
- Prior experience with graphic/rendering software, report writing, customer service, and/or project management.
- Ability to apply technical training to assignment.
- Follow instructions, safety procedures, and City policies.
- Ability to work independently.

- Ability to communicate well both in writing and verbally.
