Position Overview: The Transportation Logistics Manager coordinates and oversees all freight handling operations in relation to our Distribution Center, vendors, customers, and other related internal departments. The goal of this position is to expand and enhance our relationships with freight vendors, increase efficiencies and standardize workflows throughout the transportation process, and to work cross-departmentally to ensure all transportation needs are met.

Essential Job Functions:
- Invests in business relationships and works closely with freight brokers and carriers.
- Acts as a point person for all freight handling or logistical responsibilities in the ERP systems.
- Coordinates and leads various departmental changes related to freight handling and similar business functions.
- Assists with tracking vendor performance in relation to freight handling.
- Actively looks for competitive freight handling rates.
- Books freight and adds costs to orders.
- Updates purchase order dates in various warehouse systems and communicates changes to buyers and receiving personnel.
- Maintains close working relationships with Order Entry, Procurement, and warehousing teams.
- Investigates freight claims and discrepancies.
- Updates and organizes freight trackers; investigates and responds to related inquiries.
- Manages internal transfer processes and associated roles within the company.
- Identifies opportunities for efficiency gains and proposes related projects to management.
- Manages other office or clerical responsibilities as identified by management.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures and operates all equipment in a safe and food-safe manner.
- Complies with Bob’s Red Mill food safety policies and procedures including adherence toFDA regulations, Safe Quality Food (SQF) Standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Responsible for reporting food safety and quality concerns to Supervisors and/or Department Manager.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This incumbent has direct oversight of up to 6 employees.
- This position reports to the Warehouse Manager.
Education and Experience
- 5 or more years of logistics or transportation scheduling experience AND
- High school diploma or equivalent OR
- Any combination of education and additional years of experience that provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and ability to perform assigned tasks.
Required Skills
- Experience scheduling freight carriers or other similar activities
- Experience using vendor and customer portals
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products including Excel, Outlook and Teams
Preferred Skills
- Experience using ERP systems
- Experience developing and leading teams
Willing to Train
- Internal processes, applications, and ERP system.
Physical Demands:
- Position requires the ability to sit for up to approximately two hours at a time and retrieve information and documents from department staff within and outside the office area.
Work Environment:
- The primary work environment for this position is within an office setting. There are no adverse conditions associated with this position.
- Employees will be exposed to common food allergens.
