SalaryTransportation Driver Supervisor - Job Description
As a Transportation Driver Supervisor, you'll be responsible for managing a team of drivers and ensuring that they meet delivery schedules and comply with safety regulations. The Transportation Driver Supervisor will also need to maintain records and communicate with clients and deli store managers. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of managing a team in a transportation or logistics environment.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the timely and safe delivery of goods to the destination.
- Supervise and manage a team of truck drivers, including hiring, training, and setting work schedules.
- Create and implement operational procedures to ensure efficiency and productivity of the team (schedule drivers and or assign routes).
- Collaborate with other departments such as logistics, warehouse, purchasing, and customer service to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including hours of service and transportation laws.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to the team to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Prepare and analyze reports on the team's performance and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
- CDL Class A preferred but not required.
- High School Diploma/GED or post-secondary education or experience in transportation/logistics.
- Ability to manage a team of truck drivers effectively.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of trucking regulations and safety standards (FMCSA/DOT).
- Ability to coordinate and schedule deliveries to meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and reports of deliveries and truck maintenance activities.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Computer skills
Work Days: Sunday through Thursday
Work Hours: 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
Pay: $60,000 to $80,000 (DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE)
