Overview

LMI is seeking a skilled Supply Chain Consultant with experience in optimizing the delivery and replenishment of grocery-related items.  This role will require savvy in identifying opportunities to optimize processes for reducing distribution and transportation-related expenses. Work is remote on a team of four to five, some travel may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Quantify the warehousing and delivery costs in the current network design and operation by leveraging data, analytics, tools, technology, and supply chain expertise.  This includes in-bound shipments from the distribution centers to stores, warehousing space and inventory, and out-bound/return costs.
  • Engage with vast, complex, and diverse datasets, conducting analyses to rapidly inform network and operational design changes
  • Evaluate and optimize distribution networks, delivery frequency rates, and transportation routing/truck utilization to minimize costs and maximize operational efficiency
  • Deliver insightful analysis, proposing recommendations on cost-saving and profitability enhancement strategies
  • Prepare deliverables including analysis, presentations, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and client leadership
  • Inform Transportation and Distribution business decisions through evaluation, interpretation, and analysis of data, policy, and literature
  • Provide client with economic analysis, business process redesign, and technology assessment support for logistics functions
  • Assess the effectiveness and efficiency of logistics functions through site visits, interviews, and data analysis.
  • Conduct business case analyses on use of advanced technologies within logistics operations
  • Occasional travel may be required
Qualifications
  • 7-10 years experience in grocery or supply chain consulting required
  • Expertise in supply chain cost reduction, distribution, and process improvements
  • Experience supporting large-scale retail supply chain transformations
  • Ability to analyze complex supply chain data and identify actionable improvements
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Must self-directed and be detail oriented
