The Transport Specialist primary responsibility will be for assigning carriers for the transport of packaged goods both domestically for intercompany orders as well as exports for customers, conduct track and trace for shipments to delivery and ensure domestic and international paperwork is in good order for smooth flow of shipments. As a secondary function, the Transport Specialist will need to support and be key back-up for the International Trade Coordinator for Import/Export flows.

Please note prior to applying that this is a fixed-term position with an employment agreement through Q1/Q2 2025. Official dates will be finalized during the interview and offer process. This is a benefits eligible position for the duration of the agreement, specifically with access to our healthcare plan (medical/dental) and other programs within our benefits package.

Essential Functions

• Assign carriers to transportation orders (intercompany and international)
• Track and trace shipments from carrier assignment to delivery (domestic and international)
• Inspect all inbound and outbound paperwork to ensure customer satisfaction
• Utilize familiarity with DOT & other government agencies regulations to ensure compliance
• Complete necessary Import/Export paperwork to ensure compliance and smooth flow of shipments
• Identify shipping and receiving errors/problems and develop problem resolution tasks
• Customer claim resolution
• Review, audit & approve vendor invoices
• Collaborate with Operations, Logistics, Customer Care, Quality & Purchasing
• Work directly with carriers, customers, suppliers & other external constituencies

Required Competencies

• Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. CICS/SAP experience; preferred.

Education

• Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelors degree preferred

Experience and Skills

• 2+ years’ experience domestic and international transportation operations.
• Knowledge of DOT and Import/ export regulations
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Ability to effectively adhere to time constraints/deadlines
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously while working in a fast-paced environment
• Strong self-motivation, organization skills, dependability, and attention to detail behaviors
• Ability to make quick, appropriate decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated strong computer skills; proficiency in MS Office products

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $50,100.00 - $54,800.00 per year
