POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of proprietary company light product scheduling. Supervises a team of schedulers and directs the day-to-day activities of the Transport Scheduling Operations as it relates to truck resource planning, scheduling, loading and delivering of bulk petroleum products to customers. Ensures efficient effective scheduling and is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. This position will be based in San Antonio, TX.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manages a team of schedulers that schedule the loading and unloading of trucks for an assigned geographic area or product line
2. Remains available and on call 24 hours a day to respond to emergencies, support staff and give direction as needed.
3. Defines work schedules and ensures adequate staffing availability and continuous coverage of scheduling operation.
4. Establishes and maintains relationships with both internal and external business partners, to stay informed of market changes that impact the transport and scheduling business. Ensures management and stakeholders are kept informed regarding business developments and other important information.
5. Stays up to date and supports company policy and procedures, programs, philosophies and various governmental rules and regulations applicable to personnel and operations. Maintains extensive operational knowledge of the transportation landscape and distribution system within respective areas of responsibility.
6. Hires staffing in accordance with budgeted staffing plan and ensures all staff is properly trained to perform duties as required for the role. Fosters a team environment and enhance career development opportunities for staff.
7. Maintains appropriate transport and personnel records in accordance with record retention policy and role requirements.
8. Ensure the effective use of transportation assets in all operating districts focused on maximizing payload, efficiency, and profitability.
9. Provides safe, efficient, and reliable distribution of products in accordance with forecast plans and customer orders.
10. Assists in development of scheduling tools, programs, and applications used to monitor, schedule, and control the delivery of product.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 3 years of logistics or petroleum industry experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management, Business Administration, or other business-related function is preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
