Transmission Line Drafter/Designer

Gannett Fleming is looking for a Transmission Line Drafter to join our expanding Power Group. As a Transmission Drafter, you will support utility and power substation projects and clients. You will have the opportunity to work directly with our experienced team in one of the following locations: Pittsburgh, PA, Chicago, IL, Roanoke, VA or Phoenix, AZ

The growth and diversification of the Power Business Line is a top initiative, on both a regional and national scale. Our clients include investor owned utilities, renewable energy developers, and large industrial clients.  This mix of clients offers our staff a variety of projects to be involved in.  From Transmission Line rebuilds and greenfield capital projects to decarbonization facilities, our projects are as diversified as our clients. In this capacity you will need to have some experience working on Transmission Line projects from 34.5kV up through 765kV. 

• Provide drafting support to Transmission Line engineers and senior engineers
• Prepare and/Develop construction packages
• Develop plan and profile drawings utilizing exports from PLS-CADD software
• Develop structure detail and assembly drawings. 
• Develop loading drawings referencing loading calculations from engineers and standard structure details
• Develop structure reinforcement and modification details
• Requires attention to detail and ability to learn and implement client drafting standards

Minimum Qualifications 

• 3-6 years of Drafting Experience
• Must have experience with general arrangements, plan and profiles, structure details/reinforcements and assemblies, and loading drawings
• Fluent in AutoCAD.  Microstation experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with PLS-CADD software is preferred. 
• Knowledge of and experience with standard transmission assemblies
