Position Summary:
We work with many Spanish-speaking communities and need a qualified Spanish Translator to help us communicate more effectively with our clientele. You must know how to read and write fluently in both English and Spanish, as well as understand how to translate the contents effectively. The role will be supervised under Director of IT and User Experience, but will be required to work among different teams in the company.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read given material and research industry-specific terminology
- Convert text and audio recordings from one language to one or more others
- Ensure translated content conveys original meaning and tone
- Prepare subtitles for videos and online presentations
- Cross-reference specialized dictionaries and translation tools to check quality of translation
- Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling and punctuation accuracy
- Follow up with internal team members and clients to ensure translation meets their needs
- Interpret at company events or other conference occasions
- Assist with cross-functional departments? translation/interpretation needs
Position Skills, Education and Experience required:
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a Translator, Interpreter or similar role
- Native fluency in Spanish and English
- Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling and punctuation errors
- Good knowledge of content editing tools
- Superior interpersonal skills with conference interpretation experience
- Familiarity with translation software
- Time-management skills
- BSc in Translation, Interpreting or similar field
- Additional certification in Linguistics is a plus
