ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with Japanese to English translators to ensure seamless communication and understanding of project requirements.
- Assign translation tasks to appropriate translators based on expertise and project specifications.
- Monitor project timelines and deliverables, ensuring timely completion of translations.
- Conduct thorough reviews of translated content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project guidelines.
- Liaise with editorial teams to provide constructive feedback to translators for continuous improvement.
- Attend meetings and discussions to grasp project nuances and relay information accurately.
- Coordinate with other departments to gather necessary materials and information for translation projects.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Fluent in Japanese and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages; JLPT certification a plus.
- Experienced in coordinating translation projects with an extensive understanding of translation industry standards, processes, and protocols.
- Ability to recruit, manage, and continuously grow and develop translation pool; having an established network of translators would be an asset.
- Detail-oriented with a strong organizational, interpersonal, prioritization, and time management skills to effectively oversee multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat is required; familiarity and/or interest in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Adobe InDesign) is a plus.
- Strong passion for or knowledge of manga, manhwa, light novels and/or related media preferred.
