Job description

Job Summary
Assist and coordinate with Transmission Field Services (TFS) management and field personnel with the interpretation and development of safe work methods and procedures, the implementation of best practices, the development of improved work methods, improved work management systems, the utilization of technology, the development of streamlined documentation and reporting, the development of IT systems that will assist TFS, the identification of appropriate refresher training and new equipment training; and, assist with the facilitation of inter-region and inter-company information sharing meetings.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.) Review work practices for consistency and recommend the integration of uniform work practices and work procedures across Transmission field services.
2.) Coordinate area work plan development and administration.
3.) Participate in and facilitate inter-region and inter-company meetings to share ideas and develop uniform policies and procedures.
4.) Investigate the use of new tools and equipment that can enhance productivity and improve existing work methods and recommend their implementation.
5.) Develop refresher training and new equipment training with TFS personnel, asset management personnel, engineering personnel and new equipment manufacturers.
6.) Continuously work to improve and streamline data collection systems.
7.) Coordinate the development of TFS IT programs and work with asset management and IT to recommend enhancements to existing programs.
8.) Travel extensively through the TFS locations to stay current with existing work practices and field issues. Insure that AEP policies, standards, and rules of the company and regulatory agencies are adhered to by those performing maintenance and/or construction activities.
9.) Develop , review, and present technical reports such as studies and analysis clearly, concisely, and effectively.
10.) Develop maintenance or construction plans by establishing measurable goals and objectives based upon maintenance and construction requirements.
11.) Work across TFS areas to commision, maintain and troubleshoot Transmission and Distribution equipment.
12.) Develop knowledge to become a subject matter expert on Station, P&C, or Transmission Line issues.
13.) Prepare cost estimates for non-routine work, special projects, equipment maintenance projects or construction projects.
14.) Identify issues on NATF (North American Transmission Forum) and work to ensure information is properly communicated and operated in the TFS areas.
15.) Apply and be proficient in the use of economic analysis techniques in problem solving.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education requirements are listed below: Associate's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related technical field and 6 years' of utilty field experience OR high school diploma or GED and 10 years' of related utilty field experience.
Work Experience requirement listed below: Utility field experience would include Transmission or Distribution Line, Station or P&C experience; or maintenance and/or construction work/project scheduling or project controls experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Travel requirements are expected > 50 % of the time Physical demand level is Sedentary Extensive travel will be required.Extensive travel will be required

$83,413.00-104,267.50 USD
