Vehicle Maintenance Instructor) with experience in supporting New Equipment Training (NET) for DOD Federal acquisition programs, knowledge of policy, principles, and organizational protocols.

The specific tasks and requirements may include, but are not limited to the following:

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree preferred with at least six (6) years of relevant experience. Relevant experience must include familiarity with Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAV) and/or Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) operations.

Responsibilities:

  • The ability to develop, maintain, and implement a classroom practical application curriculum for the operations and maintenance of AAV/ACV vehicle intercommunications and communications systems;
  • Instruct and demonstrate the ability to perform and interpret diagnostic test, remove and install major components, identify system and subsystems malfunctions, and locate and isolate systems malfunctions;
  • Ability to conduct "How To" demonstrations on removing and replacing defective Line Replacement Units (LRU) preforming routine and preventative maintenance functions, and remove and install major components .
  • Must be “Ready to Train” ten (10) days prior to any instruction; and
  • Assist the Training Manager by collecting student feedback for the assessment of NET effectiveness.


Specific/Preferred Requirements:

  • Must have and maintain an active Secret clearance orhave the ability to obtain a Secret clearance;
  • Must provide proof of completion of the Marine Corps Instructor Development Course (IDC) or equivalent;
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language, including technical language and terms associated with the operation, operator maintenance and field level maintenance of Ordnance Vehicles and associated communications and data systems;
  • Must meet the prerequisite for training courses which require a Water Survival Qualification, Water Survival Intermediate (WS-I) and a physical fitness event;
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Products; and
  • Have strong attention to detail.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit and stand; reach with hands and arms; climb in, around, and on top of the ACV; and talk or hear. The employee may occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses. The employee must have the ability swim and pass a rigorous swim qualification equivalent to the current WS-I and successfully complete the Submerged Vehicle Egress Trainer (SVET). Have the ability to use and maintain personal respirators are required.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The ability to work in wide and narrow spaces, in garrison, waterborne, shipboard or in the field. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is frequently preformed in, around and under water.

Travel

Travel is expected to be moderate, up to 25% of the time.
