OVERVIEW
As a member of the ASARCO Human Resources team, the Training Program Coordinator will be responsible for the assessment, development, evaluation, and execution of Training Programs. This professional will need to focus on both new hire orientation and development of seasoned ASARCO team members.
The duties include speaking with department heads and HR personnel to determine training needs, implementing Training Programs into company procedures and reviewing data from previous Training Programs to determine their success in helping employees learn about the company or a skill.
RESPONSABILITIES & DUTIES
• Create training schedules for all company departments, track and create reports on outcomes of all training and maintain training records for the company.
• Supervise, coordinate and report on the progress of the apprenticeship programs implemented in the maintenance departments. The apprenticeship program is a skill enhancement training that includes theorical instruction and practical training to help employees develop proficiency and grow as specialist.
• Train new hires on company policies and procedures and use the best training methods for a specific purpose or audience.
• Analyze the performance review-assessment to identify gaps and design tools to fill them.
• Design new training strategies based on industry and non-industry benchmark, to guarantee that we are using the best practices on the market.
• Recruit and train new Trainers, delegate training tasks to the new Trainers and evaluate performance.
• Inform employees on scheduled training and track their progress.
• Develop training materials and methods, order and maintain in-house training equipment and facilities and manage the budget set for training.
• Work along with business partners to develop-design action plans and development plans to close gaps.
• Develop and implement tailor-made workshops and training courses.
• Identify vendors appropriate to the training needs of ASARCO.
• Work with the development area to guarantee having a strong succession plan in place.
• Operate within a financial budget.
