The Innovation and Development Division (IDD) drives the innovation strategy for the Hubs and Operations, and contributes to the Group's transformation. It is responsible for imagining, developing and incubating new solutions until they are brought to market, particularly when it comes to offers with a high technological content (including digital and IT). IDD gathers more than 3,000 employees from 70 nationalities at 60 sites.
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
The Training Manager is a critical role that develops and implements the strategies and programs to drive learning and development at the Newport and Woburn site. This role will supervise training personnel and be responsible for managing the onboarding, training and progression of all employees. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing training and personal development throughout all areas of the organization including, but not limited to, manufacturing training and qualification, maintenance training, OSHA and other regulatory required training, and employee development. This role reports to the Quality Manager.
Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Training System
- Ensure facilitative learning techniques based on adult learning principles are understood and applied to all development activities by all area resources (SME's, Workplace trainers, OTJ, Supervision)
- Work with plant leadership and SMEs to institute appropriate knowledge management practices/processes so that institutional knowledge is preserved and effectively disseminated
- Be a Process Owner for Air Liquide's IMS Group Procedure #3 (GP-03) Competence Management, ensure compliance with this standard
- Develop metrics and KPI's to keep key stakeholders updated to ensure and maintain alignment
- Partner with Human Resources to identify opportunities to utilize company training programs (e.g., AL University) and external training resources
- Manage and maintain training records
- Deliver selected training
- Own the training process for new or revised work instructions and for training linked to the MOC process
- Manage the training budget

Onboarding
- Partner with operation leadership to define and prioritize training needs
- Deliver training to site personnel
- In conjunction with HSE, improve the safety onboarding process
- Facilitate the assignment process for specific training assignments in LMS and ensure compliance
On-the-Job Training
- Build capability among SMEs for delivery of training, including facilitation techniques and creating learning documents including leading the Instructional Design/Training of Trainers (ID/TOT) course
- Develop the training schedules
- Create the training content, materials, etc.
- Develop and manage the certification process
- In collaboration with the Trainers, ensure timely and effective delivery of training
- Develop and manage the post-training evaluation and improvement processes
Progression System
- Manage the training curriculum, aligning with the KSA-based progression plan for operators
- Oversee progression status of operators and ensure schedules are maintained for progression steps

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor's degree and or 5+ years experience managing/ developing training curriculum and programs for an organization
- Experience in applying adult learning theory to the creation of training and development programs
Preferred
- Previous experience leading training programs in a manufacturing setting
